What are some bedwetting solutions that really work? It is a complicated topic because there are so many underlying causes of this problem. I would like to suggest something a bit radical for you.
I am not a doctor, not a psychologist, although sometimes I feel like one. I am just a single mum with four children, two of whom were chronic bedwetters for many years. I never discovered this solution until it was too late. But I hope to help other families who may have this distressing problem to deal with. So here goes:
Most bedwetting is psychologically based. What I mean is there can be deep reasons that no-one else is aware of that interfere at an emotional level with the child's brain, causing the wrong response in their body, ie
. wetting the bed. This can be a fear thing, it can be purely psychological. The main thing to remember is that the child is not wetting the bed on purpose.
We must treat this psychological problem with a psychological response. Again, remember that I am not a psychologist here. But here's my plan. Firstly, when your child west the bed, you should require them to change their sheets. if they are under about six years of age, you should do it with them, helping them out. But if they are older, they should do it themselves.
Note: this is not punishment, rather it does teach the brain that it is an inconvenience when one wets the bed. This is vitally important. Remember, this is a psychological problem so we deal with it the same way.
The other things you can do is speak to the subconscious while your child is asleep. The subconscious mind takes things on board very easily and will act on what it is told. So if you tell your child while they are asleep that they always wake up with a dry bed, eventually the brain will accept that message and start to act upon it.
Sounds weird but it is absolutely true. So, you can either find an audio CD that specifically targets bedwetting problems or you can speak the words yourself when the child goes to bed. Just stand beside their bed and encourage them with positive statements referring to that lovely feeling you get when you wake up with a dry bed. If you are unsure of exactly what to say, you might be better off finding your own CD but whatever you decide to do, remember that this is one of the best solutions to bedwetting.
